Happy birthday to our son, Dan; wish he was here, with Joyce and Henry and Emily. I was up just after 08:00 and rowed into the Lund bakery for fresh-baked cinnamon buns and a cup of coffee. After breakfast, the kids rowed in to check out the village and for Ashley to get good WiFi to make solid contact with some people back in Maine. Then, I rowed Terri and Laurie ashore in Little Massilia. Everybody got back to the boat just after noon and were away from the dock on our way to Campbell River just before 13:00. The trip across the top of Hernando Island and to the south of Cape Mudge was a motor as we had hardly a breath of wind the whole way. We did see one more whale about half a mile off. After fighting 4 knots of flood tide flowing south past Campbell River, we finally got tied up at the Campbell River Fisherman’s Wharf at 16:40. After we all cleaned up a bit, we had a WhatsAp call with Dan and family to wish him happy birthday. Then, we went to Sessions Taproom for a beer and pizza for dinner; AJ picked up the tab - very kind. Back at the boat, the kids finished packing and we played a few songs in the cockpit one last time. Then, it was early-ish to bed.
