The predicted cool front has apparently stalled a bit to the north, so it is still kinda warm here, with nearly clear skies and a light easterly wind. We lazed around during the morning waiting for the flood to commence up the Hudson, and finally got away from the dock at 11:30. Before we left, I had a long chat with Raymarine tech support and it appears that the course computer has a bug or a problem that can only be resolved by sending it into the Raymarine shop. I will do this after we get the boat ready to haul in Rondout (the chart plotter still works; at least the GPS position on the chart is still accurate). Manhattan was very hazy, but it was still pretty cool to cruise along the Hudson beside the biggest and busiest city in North America. The wind was light all day, so we motored all the way to Haverstraw Marina, near West Haverstraw, NY. We passed under the George Washington Bridge at 12:50, followed by the Tappan Zee Bridge at 14:30. During the long straight stretches, I worked on cockscombing the handrail on the port side of the bimini. Happy hour and dinner aboard.
