It was cold enough last night that it was hard to get out of bed, but at least the rain has finally stopped. Flowers Cove is pretty and it was nice being serenaded by our own private loon, but it is surrounded by private property, so not so easy to get ashore. So, we decided to move on. We are short on clean clothes, so we decided to head back to Douglas Harbour, as there is a laundromat there. The mooring ball was dropped at 10:00 and we motored out of Flowers Cove. The wind was fair for Douglas Harbour, so we had all plain sail up within minutes, sailing all the way to the harbour. We pulled up to the dock (another old riverboat dock, left over from the good old days) to make it easier to get up to the laundry. After finishing the laundry, as there was not another soul present in the harbour, I finally convinced the Admiral to have a bit of practice at boat handling. She piloted the boat off the dock and up to the mooring ball like a pro; I could hardly have done it better myself. During happy hour, we finally finished listening to “The Poet”; a bit dark, but very well written and a good read/listen. After dinner (pork tenderloin kabob, with a rice garnish), we started listening to David Baldacci’s “Memory Man”.
