Up at 7:30. I dinked in to pay the mooring fee (a long-winded process, for one night) and then we got away about 9:30. Picked up a gallon of gasoline for the dinghy on the way out. As soon as we got out of Marathon harbor, the anemometer started going crazy; we initiated the re-calibration routine again, but it was still cycling between 84 knots and 0. It finally settled down; and then we looked east (our path) and there was a big squall/thunderstorm directly in our path and bearing down on Marathon. We could not get back to the harbor before it got there, so we headed offshore to dodge (hopefully) behind it. We went about 6 miles offshore and this seemed to work. We dodged 2 other squalls/T-storms on the way to Rodriguez I., but eventually got there about 16:00 without further incident. We anchored in 8 ft of water and had a very pleasant evening, in the midst of 5 other sailboats. We finished off the leftover pork chops for dinner. I went for a swim after dinner, followed by a refreshing fresh-water shower on the transom. There were T-storms all around us all night, but none came close.
