We decided to exercise discretion and move to the mooring field at Ft. Myer’s Beach. Ft. Myer’s Beach is a typical beach town with a number of bars, restaurants and T-shirt shops. We chilled in the afternoon and then took the dinghy to Doc Ford’s for dinner with Pat and Sam. Guitars and whiskey on LongHawk afterward. We slept very well that night.

We shared a car rental with Sam and Pat for the day and took care of major shopping chores at Capt. Pete’s (for snorkeling gear), West Marine (of course), and Publix for groceries and booze. With that out of the way and everything stowed away on the boat, we simply hung out and read and waited for happy hour. Sam and Pat came to “c’est le bon” and we all enjoyed a marvelous sunset. Dinner aboard, early to bed.

I spent the morning ordering parts (engine hour meter and amp-hr meter) and figuring out where to get them shipped; finally decided to ship them to Marathon, FL as one of the parts was on back order and they did not know when it would ship. Then, the pump-out boat came around for our most enjoyable chore (pumping out the holding tank); ah, the glamour of cruising. We took the dink back into town and had a wander around the beach and town, which turned into a bit of a pub crawl. Can’t remember if we had dinner that night or not.
