We left early (09:00) for the run down to Naples, where we spent the night at the Naples Bay Boat Club. Naples is a neat little town with a 35 ft max height building restriction, so for the first time since we arrived in Florida, the horizon is not jammed with high-rise hotels and condos. The marina had a pool and laundry, so we combined cocktails and laundry duty with hanging out by the pool. We had dinner aboard “LongHawk” and another guitar jam, mixed with some trip planning over whiskey. The wind looks like it is never going to cooperate the way we would like it to: i.e., a nice easterly breeze for the run down to Dry Tortugas, followed a day or two later by a westerly, so we can get back to Key West without beating for 60 miles. Looks like we are just going to go straight to Key West.
