The rains were with us again last night, but it was finished by the time we got up at 08:00. The anchor was aweigh and we were on the move to Parry Sound by 10:30. We took very the twisty/turny small boat channel east of Bernyk Island, through the Devils Elbow, Seven Mile Narrows, Five Mile Narrows, Two Mile Narrows and the Rose Point Swing Bridge. En route, I called Big Sound Marina to reserve a slip for the night, only to find that their transient docks had been damaged in a storm last week and there was no room for us; bad news since we are about out of food. When we got into town, I saw a space at the Town (or Government) Dock, which is controlled by Big Sound Marina, and just went in and parked. The wharfinger helped us tie up but did not think we could stay overnight, so we said we just needed a couple of hours to get groceries and he said fine. We shared a taxi to the grocery store and the LCBO with Scott and Sylvie - on “Naut Home”, a Carver 36 - and were back on the boat by 15:00. The wharfinger then said we could stay for the night. Parry Sound Marine had a rebuild kit for the forward toilet, so I rowed over to collect it, then spent the rest of the afternoon rebuilding the flushing unit; it works like a charm now and the Admiral is much happier, including the raw water flush. Happy hour and dinner aboard.
