We all slept in a bit to let Matt and Julia recover from their flight, but we finally got going about 10:00. The weather was still fine and cool, with partly cloudy skies, but the front is getting close. Rain and a stiff northerly wind were in the forecast for this evening, so, as we were looking for an anchorage with a bit of protection, we decided to press on to Double Island anchorage, about 37 N-m further up the river. The trip up the river was uneventful, other than a couple of very light showers and routine passes of a couple of medium-sized tows, which were headed down-river. We anchored at Double Island at 15:40. The water temperature is still fine, but the air temp was down to about 68F by the time we anchored, plus the current was holding the stern up to a 10-12 kn northerly breeze, which would have made getting out of the water a very chilly proposition. So, everyone decided that a swim was not going to happen today. We had more light rain after we settled in. It was a chilly happy hour, but we grilled salmon for dinner, so all was good. The wind kept the mosquitos at bay.
