It rained again last night and was cool and windy when we awoke, with intermittent rain continuing. We had to wait for a stink-pot moored behind us to go before we could get out of the slip, but we finally got underway at about 10:30, after a quick stop to pump out the HTs. We motored all the way to Flower Pot anchorage in Henvey Inlet, through the notorious Roger’s Gut along the way. About a mile and a half into Henvey Inlet, there is a narrow bit with nearly vertical rock walls and ~25 ft of water; there were 3 power boats tied up to trees and fendered up to the rocks with portable generators up on the shore. We anchored at Flower Pot just after 13:00 about 100 yards from “Islandia”; we are the only two boats in here. The rain had stopped, but it was still windy and cool and very wintry-looking, so I did not go for a swim. We watched the Astros play the decider of the weekend series against the Twins; Astros won 5-3 - they are now 62-30 for the season. Bob and Diane from “Islandia” came over for cocktails and then came back again after dinner for another sing-along; good fun. In the meantime, we had a FaceTime conversation with our buddies in Vancouver. We tried to stay up to see the Aurora Borealis (which was supposed to be visible because of a recent solar flare), but we could not; plus the mosquitos were awesome in their ferocity and numbers after dusk.
