We slept in till 08:00, having looked a couple times during the night for the Aurora, but it clouded up after midnight and we could not see anything. The weather was beautiful and clear this morning, with a very light NE wind. We finally got the anchor up just after 10:00 and headed out of Henvey Inlet, back to the small boat channel between Burnt and Rogers Islands, past the Churchill Islands, between Bigsby and Queen Islands, thru Dead Island Channel, into the Northeast Passage around the north side of the Bustard Islands, before finally turning up into Bad River Channel, where we anchored about 13:30 near to Devil Door Rapids, again not too far away from “Islandia”. After we settled in, we went for a long row around the inlet. The current was too strong to row up through the Devil Door Rapids, although Bob and Diane got through with their 25 HP outboard-powered dinghy. We rowed around the island that stands between Bad River and the inlet, but the current was again too strong to stem and we were equally unsuccessful trying to get up Little Jameson Rapids. After getting back to the boat, I went for a brief swim in 70 F water, but could not convince the Admiral to join me. We enjoyed cocktails aboard “Islandia”, then came back home for dinner. We are hoping the Aurora will show itself tonight, as the sky is clear as a bell.
