Happy Birthday to me. We were up and into town by 09:00 to sample the cinnamon buns and coffee for breakfast at Julia’s Deli. John and I hung out and drunk another coffee while the Admirals went shopping.  Back to the boat and let go the mooring just before noon and sailed down into Mahone Bay with NW 15 - 18 behind us. We had a fine downwind run all the way round the south end of the Lunenburg peninsula, followed by a good beat up the bay into Lunenburg Harbour. For the last 3 miles, we traded tacks with “Bluenose II”, which was out for an excursion around the bay with a load of tourists. After passing under her lee as we came into the bay, we tacked and crossed her bow, which was very gratifying. We managed to sail right up to the south end of the mooring field before we started the engine and furled the sails; 19.5 miles logged with 0.6 engine hours. We picked up a mooring ball before 15:30, then rowed into town. John’s nephew and girlfriend drove down from Halifax to join us for an excellent dinner at Lincoln Street Food. We were back on the boat by 22:00. Another good day.
