It seems that summer is over; a “back-door” cold front (whatever that is) came through last night and it got cool and windy during the night and it was pea-soup foggy in the early morning. We only have 11 miles to go today, so we slept in. We finally let go the mooring ball at 11:00 and mostly sailed all the way to Greenport, NY, on the North Fork of eastern Long Island, on the opposite side of Shelter Island from Sag Harbor. After tying up at Brewers Sterling Harbor Marina, we walked into Greenport for a look around. Another quaint New England town, but, again, a bit early in the season; half of the shops and restaurants were still closed, with plans to open up on Memorial Day weekend.
