Light, intermittent rain persisted until the early morning, but eased up a bit and the sun was trying to poke through by breakfast time. We got the anchor up at 09:45 and motored back over to Roaringhole Rapid, which was now at peak flow on the ebb; we were able to get to within a few meters of the rapid on the downstream side - quite exciting. As we headed back south through Dusany Passage, the sun came out. We motored to Shawl Bay, but found the marina there is closed for renovations and not likely to re-open for another year or so. We pushed on to the Burdwood Group, where we anchored with a stern line ashore at 16:00, not far from “Sawlty Dawg” and “Dream Catcher”, 2 Nordic Tugs. We stopped here with the kids back in 1999. We immediately rowed ashore and had a good walk around the island. A campers shelter has been erected since we were last here, apparently by the 1st Nations group that claims this area.
