We rode bikes back into Coho Joe’s for breakfast. On the way back, John found the owner of the dinghy jigs we spotted in an old, derelict boathouse yesterday, and secured the right to borrow it this winter; he will have to drive back up to Sointula to collect it. We got back to the boats and pulled away from the dock at 11:30 and headed north toward the Broughton Archipelago. As we approached the entry to Wells Passage, we spotted several humpback whales feeding just to the south of James Pt. We shut down to watch them for nearly 45 minutes and were graced with one whale performing a complete body-out-of-the-water broach; I was videoing using my iPhone at the time and was able to turn around just in time to catch the whale splashing back into the water. “Massilia” came along about 45 minutes later and saw 3 broaches, although they did not get a good photo of any of them. We anchored at Deep Cove, on the north side of Dickson I., at 16:20.
