Wow, what a day! We actually made it into Canada. We were up to the alarm at 06:00 and had the anchor up by 06:30; breakfast en-route. It was clear and calm as we crossed the international border, dodging an outbound freighter on the way, who congratulated us on our arrival in Canada. We were tied up at the Canadian Customs dock at 07:45. And we actually cleared in at 10:50, with lots of help and patience from Officer Thomas of the CBSA (if we were waiting on that sort of assistance from the average US CBP officer, we would be handcuffed in a cell somewhere in South Texas, with our children sent off to New York or somewhere). Anyway, to say the least, there were a few glitches in the new (today) system, but the Canadians made it work and welcomed us in with open arms; it is a shame we are not reciprocating. After we pumped out (actually, as it turns out, we only pumped out one tank as Van Isle were having some issues with their pump-out facility; so, we will finish this task tomorrow), we moved over to slip D-808 and, after a quick lunch, walked into town to grocery shop. We were back at the boat (via taxi) by 16:00; the Admiral put everything away and I washed down the boat.  John and Laurie came over on the afternoon ferries from Vancouver and we met them for dinner at Sea Glass Restaurant, at Van Isle Marina.
