Twenty-one years since that dark day in US history; long may we remember. The sky was a bit overcast and visibility was limited to one mile in some places by smoke drifting west from a forest fire in Hope, BC, up the Fraser River Valley a ways from Vancouver; first smoke we have been exposed to this year. After breakfast, we did laundry and got some grocery shopping done. Then, we headed south to Deep Bay, for dinner with Maureen and Neil. We motored most of the way, although we did sail for a bit south of the Denman Island ferry crossing. We were tied up at the Deep Bay government dock at 17:00. Neil drove over to collect us all and give us a ride back to their house. We had a lovely evening sharing a meal and solving all the problems of the world. Neil brought us back to the boats some time after 23:00, whereupon we went straight to bed.
