Another beautiful night in paradise, although it rained a bit just about dawn. We enjoyed a leisurely breakfast and finally got the anchors up about 10:00, ran down Colwells Creek and turned up into Washademoak Lake. The wind was foul, but only NE 6-10kn, so we motored the 8 miles to Big Cove and were anchored by 11:45. It sprinkled on us several times during the afternoon and it remained cloudy and cool, so we never left the boat, but I did manage to get another coat of varnish on the starboard toe-rail and the binnacle tray between showers. The Saint John River is an excellent gunkholer’s paradise, but we have been cursed for the last 10 days by cool, damp weather and have not gone for a single swim. We are getting a bit short on grub, so tomorrow we will need to head up to Cambridge Narrows or Gagetown for some supplies to hold us until we get back to RKYC and Saint John. Dinner aboard - lamb chops.
