It was still cool, cloudy and rainy, with a NE wind when we woke up, with no indication that it was going to improve, so we got underway before 09:00, headed for Gagetown for a bit of reprovisioning and fresh-water. Arriving at Gagetown by 11:30, we fueled up, watered up, bought a few groceries and had a quick lunch at the Old Boot Pub, as well as a nice chat with a few folks from the Rothesay YC, who are up on their annual cruise. Side note: looks like our fuel consumption rate has improved a bit since last year; having the injectors cleaned may have been a good idea after all. Just about lunch time, the clouds finally cleared, the sun came out for the first time in a week, the wind moved around to the west, and, all of a sudden, it is summer again. We got away from Gagetown about 14:30 and cruised a couple of miles back down-river to Lawsons Passage, where we anchored before 15:00 in 14 ft of water. It was so nice here on this branch of the river, that we unlimbered “Swallow” and went for a nice sail out the end of the passage and back. There are at least 2 eagles and 2 ospreys hunting and presumably nesting on this body of water, so we had a great time watching them as the afternoon progressed. Dinner aboard - salmon.
