Happy Bastille Day. Vive la France!! It was a cool, cloudy, windy start to the morning, SW 15-20. We got going about 10:00 and motored all the way to Whelply Cove, where we tied up to the same mooring ball we used when we stopped here on our way upriver. We had lunch and then rowed over to the beach, pulled the dinghy up and walked about 2 km into the town of Brown’s Flat, comprising 2 churches a filling station/convenience store and a green grocer, with lots of fresh (as in picked locally last night) produce. We bought a bunch of fruit and veggies and a couple of scoops of ice cream, then walked back to Whelply Cove, arriving back on the boat by 15:00. Happy hour and dinner aboard; grilled chicken and fresh corn-on-the-cob - high living.
